Melek is the current King of Kassander and Erramuun’s father. Installed long ago by the last Aasho, he has served the people for centuries. Blessed with not only longevity of life, but also a special connection with the maker, Melek leads with grace and wisdom.

He supports the kingdom with selfless service, an open door, and regularly makes diplomatic journeys to every region. When he is not teaching the peoples in the meetinghouse he is navigating the complexities of diplomatic affairs within Heart Guard.

Every five years, Melek visits the Sar’s (leaders) within each fortress before making his rounds throughout many of the smaller villages and towns dispersed throughout the regions. This gives him opportunity to not only learn about his people, but enables him to become more involved in benevolence and service.

During the Great Festival, which is held annually, Melek, with the help of the Elders, is charged with teaching all of Kassander about their past, the Dark Ages, and what hope there is in the future.

Excellent in battle, Melek works closely with the King’s Army—a formidable group of valiant men—to secure both the fortress but also surrounding areas. His desire is to one day pass the King’s ring and pendant to Erramuun who has shown true qualities of a King and leader.

Unfortunately, this may come sooner than he anticipated and at a much greater cost than either had hoped.
