About My Writing

My name is Joshua and I have been writing since I was able to put ink on paper. As a young child, I wrote short stories that both surprised and intrigued my mother. I am fascinated with the powerful impact words have on people. Unfortunately, I did not pursue my love of writing into my adolescent and adult life. However, I still put it to use in multiple ways. Through blog posts, academic papers, sermons, or youth lessons, my joy of writing has always found a space.

Many years ago, I developed a story in my mind full of fantastical elements, deep meaningful characters, and robust themes. Darkness vs. light, despair vs. hope, self-doubt, perseverance, overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles and many others all nicely packaged into a 3-part epic fantasy series.

I knew I had to get these stories out of one realm and into another, so I began to write. Some years would pass as I sought a Master’s of Divinity before I would put the pen to paper (or in my case, fingers to keyboard). Then in the summer of 2022 I took a weekend away to write, and quickly went from 22K to 40K+ words.

After that, I decided it was time to finish telling Erramuun and Rayne’s story. Prioritizing time each day, I soon reached my goal of 98K words and a finished book 1–The Indwelling Darkness: Love, Bloodshed, & the Fall. Yet, there is so much more to their story; and so, I continue writing book 2. Join Erramuun and Rayne on their fantastical journey through the kingdom of Kassander, into the realms of darkness to battle–and hopefully overcome–the evil Tyrant.

The Scam is Real As a new … as a self-….no that isn’t correct either. As a “hope to be soon newly published author,” I find interaction with other writers/authors exciting.
